Way Back When...
webitpr began life seven years ago with one teenager, an old computer and a thought provoking idea.
Way back when the World Wide Web was just a baby, our Jonathan, who wasn't much older than a baby himself, saw the potential in online media and what it could mean for the future of PR. Now, at the time, some might have called him a geek whereas others may have said he was ahead of his time. We think it's probably true on both counts but either way he was right.
Since then and thanks to our Chief Executive and (for his sins) chartered accountant, Adam, our news release and coverage monitoring service, realwire, has served a number of PR agencies and corporate clients throughout the UK and beyond.
We think all of our clients are great and we love working with them but we tend to get upset when they're not happy. Being accountable to our work is something that's in the blood as we're often amazed, aghast even, at how many news releases are sent out via our competitors never to be seen, picked up or heard from again. We don't do that here and we never would.
You couldn't exactly call us geeks but we do love the online media and we often get excited about adding new ones to the realwire database. That's why we currently have over four and a half thousand online media contacts and this number is growing constantly.
Here's a BBC article featuring our Jonathan from our early days. Questions still remain about the hair.
